Honoring Grandma’s Kitchen, One Arepa at a Time

A heartfelt tribute to “Chellas,” whose recipes and warmth inspire every dish.

Grandma Chella’s Kitchen Legacy

Grandma Chella’s Kitchen Legacy

I still remember the warmth of my grandmother’s home in Peru. Early mornings she pressed fresh corn pockets for our family to enjoy. I watched her fill each arepa by hand as laughter rose around the table. Her gentle voice shared stories while I learned simple cooking truths. Those mornings taught me that meals create connections and joy. When I opened our first kitchen in 2018, I carried her lessons into each dish and every service.
Bringing Latin Heritage to Lancaster

Bringing Latin Heritage to Lancaster

Combining my love for cooking with my Latin roots, I dreamed of a place where authentic flavors lived side by side. In 2018 I opened Chellas Arepa Kitchen at 1830 Hempstead Rd, then added our Queen Street spot to share more fresh recipes. Our cozy indoor seats and sunny patio welcome each guest to gather over hands-on cooking and friendly service. We make every gluten-free arepa and dish with care, offering vegan and vegetarian choices.
Quality Ingredients Drive Our Menu

Quality Ingredients Drive Our Menu

I believe that every dish shines when ingredients are at their best. We source fresh corn flour each morning and use ripe plantains, tender meats, and home-churned cheese to fill our arepas. We partner with local farms to keep our menu fresh. Every recipe is gluten-free, so guests with dietary needs, including vegans and vegetarians, can enjoy worry-free meals. This focus on pure ingredients reflects our promise to serve genuine South American fare every day.

Sharing Community One Arepa at a Time

From our first day at Hempstead Road to our new Queen Street spot, I’ve been amazed by how food brings people close. We’ve hosted families, couples, and friends under our roof and at our sunlit tables. Every time we serve a plate, we hope to spark warm talks and real smiles. Our goal is simple: to offer genuine South American dishes with friendly service so you feel right at home. All dishes are gluten-free and inspired by my grandmother’s recipes.
